TIPS

Learnt by trial and error over the years, our tips are just suggestions we hope you will find useful when planning your trip.

  • Your cheapest option is to book in and out of Selva on a Saturday. Simply Ski Saturday to Saturday.
  • iSKi plus,add a few days either side of your ski holiday to spend time exploring your gateway city.
  • Flying mid-week it could be cheaper if you want to go the iSKi plus route.

In the Village

  • Make sure you have warm shoes with a good track. You will be walking on cobbles and ice.
  • Keep warm walking around the village at night.Be prepared for -15 °C.
  • Baby sitters are available for small children. Contact the tourist office for more info

Shopping

If you need anything in selva the Gardena centre is where you need to go , check out the website www.gardenacenter.com, the service in the supermarket is outstanding.

Ask them about their famous chocolates, Dolomites Chocolate to bring home as gifts , visit www.dolomites-italy.com

On the slopes

  • Be warm, be waterproof, ensure you have all the right kit.
  • Wear a Helmet. Keeps your head warm and protected. You may think you look strange at first, if you hit your head you will be feeling strange, rather look strange than feel strange.
  • Helmet’s are compulsory for children.
  • Goggles are handy. Sunglasses don’t work if it starts snowing.
  • Lip balm and sunscreen are useful.
  • Take a roll or two and a bottle of water in your back pack.Skiing is thirsty work and the rolls will keep the kids happy before lunch.
  • There is an app in Selva that you can download to your phone that will track and record your route and determine your fitness level.
  • Ladies long nails may not last the trip
  • Important tip:Take insurance for your ski hire. You never know.
  • Take the Superski pass option
  • Ski Passes cannot be shared, if caught the pass will be confiscated, every pass that is 6 days or more carries your photo.
  • For 6 Euros per week,take the ski bus pass, the penalty for no bus ticket is 20 Euros.
